Brrr!

It's been a beautiful fall, but the weather has changed!  A warm coat, hat, and gloves are needed.  As the snow began to fly today the first question was, "Do we need boots to go outside?"  There wasn't quite enough snow for boots today, but it won't be long.  If students want to play in the snow they are required to wear boots and snow pants.  Please make sure your child is properly dressed for outside play.

Let it snow!  Let it snow!  Let it snow!

Thanksgiving Break!

There will be no spelling homework and no reading log sent home this week.  Instead, the only assignment is to enjoy family time together.

To those of you who are traveling this week, have a safe trip.  To those who may be hosting a Thanksgiving dinner, may your guests enjoy their meal.

I am thankful this year to have the great pleasure of spending my days with your children.  Their bright smiles and enthusiasm for learning make every day a pleasure to come to school!

Enjoy the long weekend!

P.E. News from Mr. Dunlap

During the month of December the third and fourth grades will be playing indoor sports. They will have a chance to work on some beginning basketball fundamentals and after some introductory activities they will play volleyball in the gym. It will be important that they remember to wear sneakers on P.E. days.

Jefferson County Park Trip

Congratulations to all the students who earned the At Home Reading reward trip to Jefferson County Park on Monday, November 15!  Human croquet with the teachers as the wickets was a big hit with the students.  Thanks to Mrs. Schloss's husband for manning the grill and helping with the roasted marshmallows.  The s'mores were delicious!

Students will continue bringing home reading logs almost every week for the rest of the school year.  We will work toward various incentives and rewards.  Parents, please make sure your child reads at least 15 minutes a day for at least 5 days a week.  Thanks for your help!
